Conscious Educators for Equity is here to support every educator in this journey to becoming culturally conscious and equity-minded educators! Apply to participate in one of our upcoming Conscious Academy Cohorts (virtually or in-person). Each cohort is designed to support educators’ growth and development in authentic culturally relevant and equity-focused practices.

Guided by foundational research and best practices in supporting positive, culturally affirming, and anti-oppressive learning environments for ALL students, every cohort is focused on developing educators’ equity consciousness to enable them to be highly-effective culturally and globally responsive decision-makers for every student.

Who is the Conscious Academy for?

  • PK-12 Teachers, Para-Professionals, Administrators, Instructional Coaches, Counselors, Librarians, etc., are all welcome to join (and encouraged)!

  • Conscious Educators who participate in the face-to-face version will experience our immersive and intensive transformative methods and pedagogy in a 4-day session in June 17-20, 2024 (Houston, TX) .

  • Conscious Educators who participate in the virtual version will experience our immersive and intensive transformative methods and pedagogy across 10 week long multi-sessions on Saturdays from 10am-12pm CST (Beginning September 7, 2024).

Conscious Academy Cohorts

  • Increased knowledge and skills in authentic culturally responsive practices; tools, strategies, and resources to solve your immediate concerns/issues in implementing culturally responsive practices; and comprehensive SUPPORT to do so EFFECTIVELY!

    • 10 robust learning modules focused on building foundational knowledge and skills in culturally responsive practices.

    • Critical connections between culture and learning; understand how culture influences students’ learning experiences in schools.

    • Critical skills that foster a mindset focused on authentic equity and culturally affirming practices in all aspects of teaching and learning.

    • Self-reflective questioning opportunities to challenge your comfort zones in your teaching practices.

    • Additional resources and tools for extended learning and exploration of each topic!
